User Terms
Effective date: 19 September 2026
These User Terms apply to you if you sign in to Eave Desk because a building company gave you an account. That company is the "Company." You are a "User." If you were invited to review a design as an engineer or other reviewer, you are also a User.
By accepting an invitation, signing in, or using the Service you agree to these User Terms. If you do not agree, do not sign in, and tell the Company that invited you.
1. Who these terms are for
These terms cover everyone with a sign-in under a Company's account: owners, administrators, managers, sales staff, estimators, invited reviewers, and anyone the Company grants temporary support access to. The Company has its own agreement with Eave Desk, the Terms of Service at eavedesk.com/terms-of-service. Where these User Terms and the Terms of Service both apply to you, the Terms of Service control.
2. Your relationship is with the Company, not with Eave Desk
Eave Desk makes software. It does not employ you, does not sell buildings, does not engineer them, does not set the Company's prices, and is not a party to any sale the Company makes. Your role, your pay, your authority to quote a price or release a file, and any dispute about your work are between you and the Company.
3. Your account
- Your credentials are yours alone. Do not share them or let anyone else use your account.
- Keep your contact details accurate so the Company and its Buyers can reach you.
- Tell the Company, and Eave Desk at security@eavedesk.com, if you think someone else has used your account or an API key you created.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- The Company controls your role and can change or remove your access at any time. An API key you create belongs to the Company and survives your departure. Eave Desk can suspend an account that presents a security risk or breaks these terms.
4. What you may not do
- Use the Service to break the law, harass anyone, or infringe anyone's rights, including by uploading a logo, drawing, or file the Company has no right to use.
- Enter card numbers, government identification numbers, or health information into notes or other free-text fields.
- Access another company's data, guess or share secret links you were not given, probe the Service for weaknesses, or interfere with it.
- Use bots, scrapers, or AI agents against the Service other than through the documented integration API, or use anything from the Service to train an AI model.
- Copy the Service's catalog, quantity rules, or framing rules for use outside it, or copy, resell, or reverse engineer the Service.
- Present any drawing, quantity list, price, or package the Service produces as engineered, sealed, permitted, or code-compliant when it is not, or remove or hide a NOT ENGINEERED, sample, unapproved, or estimate marking. If you turn off the opening placement rules for a design, the Service records that you did it and why, and everything from that design is marked accordingly.
- Collect Buyer or other User contact details from the Service to use outside the Company's own business.
5. Confidentiality of what you see
The Service shows you the Company's price books, supplier prices, margins, leads, customer details, files, and pipeline, and the personal details of the Company's Buyers. Use that information only for the Company's business, share it with no one who is not entitled to it, and follow every confidentiality duty you owe the Company. If you are a reviewer, use the packet only for the review you were asked to do. If you have temporary platform support access to a Company's account, use it only for the support task and only for as long as it lasts. Leaving the Company does not end this duty.
6. Outputs are estimates
Quantities, purchase lists, cut lists, budget figures, priced material lists, drawings, and DXF files are material estimates and concept documents computed from the Company's catalog, price book, and framing choices. They are not a bill of materials to order from without review, and they are not a determination that a building is safe, permitted, or buildable. Where the Service flags a line as unreconciled, unapproved, sample, priced as a substitute, or NOT ENGINEERED, treat the flag as a required review. The Company, and the licensed professionals it retains, decide what is built and what is charged. Eave Desk does not.
7. Your personal information
Eave Desk processes your personal information on the Company's behalf and on its instructions. The Company decides your role and who inside it can see what. The Eave Desk Privacy Policy at eavedesk.com/privacy-policy explains what is collected, how it is protected, and how to exercise your rights. Your password is stored only as a salted hash. The Service keeps an audit trail of significant actions, including yours, with your name and a timestamp. To correct or delete your information, contact the Company; if you contact Eave Desk we will forward your request to them within 5 business days and help them respond.
8. No warranties; limits on liability
The Service is provided "as is." Eave Desk does not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error free, and does not promise that any price, quantity, drawing, or lead shown in it is correct; those come from the Company's data and choices. To the extent the law allows, Eave Desk is not liable to you for indirect or consequential losses, and its total liability to you for anything arising out of these terms is limited to $100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
9. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington. Disputes are heard in the state and federal courts of Cowlitz County, Washington, and each party waives a jury trial to the extent the law allows.
10. Changes
Eave Desk may update these terms. When it does, the Service will show you the new version and ask you to accept it. Continuing to use the Service after that is acceptance. The version you accepted is recorded and can be shown to you on request.
